I agree with you wholeheartedly. We started off on a path that saw us put all of our eggs in one basket. We banked on tourism and tourism alone and we forget about everything else. We've made tons of money for just about everyone and that's ok, but we did not look out for ourselves. We did not invest in education and infrastructure in general. I suppose once we could drive on something other than dirt, we saw that as a good thing. We have always been a proud people, who may not have had much money, but we could boast the one thing that the other cribbean islands could not, and that was we were land rich, and I use the word "were" somewhat cautiously, because a lot of us have sold off our inheritances, sadly, but I digress. We came onto the stage without having a clue what was involved in administering ourselves. We were given he keys to a sophisticated piece of machinery and we couldn't even figure out how to shift from first gear, so consequently, we just ground the gearbox to bits. I agree with this writer in that we have to know where we are going and we have to have a plan with contingences in place. Right now we are making it up as we go along and doing a very bad job of it. Those whom we expected to come through for us, came through alright, mostly for themselves. 2015 will be one hell of a year. It will be the year that politics in Anguilla changed our trajectory from backwater wannabees to our rightful place on the world stage. We have the people who can get us there. This time we have to use our heads and not our hearts when it comes to the ballot box. This is doable and I look forward to seeing our ne'er do well politicians pink slipped, every last one of them. Tyrone Hodge
