James Hodge, 23, of Long Bay, wanted by Police on an arrest warrant for discharging a firearm in a public place, turned himself in at Police Headquarters on Wednesday March 26 at about 1.50 pm.
According to Inspector Emris Rogers, Hodge was accompanied by his Attorney. He was expected to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday March 27.
“The arrest warrant was issued because there is evidence and information that suggest he was involved in the incident,” Rogers told reporters earlier on Wednesday. “The Police are looking for another person of interest who they haven’t been able to locate as yet. That person is believed to be from The Valley.”
Mr Rogers said that two other youngsters, arrested on suspicion, were eventually released.
The Inspector stated that the Police had information that three groups of youngsters from The Valley, Blowing Point and West End, were at Island Harbour on the night in question when an altercation broke out among them. Shooting erupted during which over ten shots were fired. No one was injured, but several vehicles were damaged. A 9 millimetre gun was thought to be one of the firearms discharged.
