Athletics:-
The 8th annual J.W. Proctor’s track and field classic will take place Sunday 23rd February at the J.R.W.P. starting at 1:00 pm. Athletes representing the primary and secondary schools as well as the athletic clubs on the island will participate in sprints and middle distance races, jumps and throwing events. This will be an opportunity for athletes to qualify for the upcoming Carifta games in Martinique scheduled to take place in April, also to assist those from the primary and secondary schools as they prepare for their annual Sports Days on the 3rd and 10 the of April respectfully.

Boatrace:-
The 2014 boatrace season gets on the way on Sunday 23rd February with a B- class race at Sandy Ground starting at 12:30. All boat owners, captains and crew are asked to come out and be on time.

Basketball:-
Date, Home Team,  Away Team,  Top Scorers
15/2/2014, Pointers U-19- 37, West Stars U-19- 38, Anfri Connor top scored with 18 points and 2 rebounds
15/2/2014, Bandits U-19- 47, JR. Hoyas U-19- 51, Alrique Rogers top scored with 30 points and 4 rebounds
14/2/2014 JR. Hoyas U-19- 50, Youngstars U-19 *– 12, Oswald White top scored with 15 points and 17 rebounds

The Junior tournament being played at the North Hill basketball court continued. Results of matched played last week are as follows:

Primary School Basketball:-

The annual primary school tournament begun last Friday at the Stoney Ground Basketball court. All six schools participated in the knockout competition. In the final match of the afternoon, Valley was victorious over Adrian T. Hazell winning 14 to 4.

 Cycling:-

The 2014 cycling season in Anguilla got off to a great and exciting start on Sunday. It was indeed a pleasure to see the young & upcoming cyclists between ages 5 – 15 taking part in the races, a good sign of what is to come. The action got started at 1.50 pm with a number of riders taking part in various categories. Below are the results:

Category 5-9 years Special mention goes to Demitri Niles, Devon Perkins and Young Narine, only 5 years doing his first race.

Category 10-12 years (Boys) 1st place Evon Claxton
2nd place Jauqane Browne
3rd place Deanthony Niles

Category 10-12 (Girls) 1st place Sethrenanda Williams
2nd place Nadeska Brodie
3rd place Emani Conner

Category 14–16 (mix) 1st place Jurvone Duncan
2nd place Xavi Brooks
3rd place Staniesha Crawford

Masters Category 1st Timothy Richardson
2nd Ian Brooks

Elite Category 1st place Benjamin (Donga) Phillip
2nd place Devaughn (Baker) Richardson
3rd place Sherwin (Shortman) Osborne

The next race will be on March 2nd 2014 on the LONG PATH ROAD.
