On Wednesday 12th February, the newly elected executive committee members of the Anguilla National Youth Council (ANYC) and Programme Officer-Youth in the Department of Youth and Culture, Ms. Joleyne S. Robin visited with and presented healthy fruit and snack baskets to some young people of the community who have been affected by gun violence and motor vehicle trauma. The young people who were visited are: – Nekyle Davis, Randy Hodge, Khaiel Hughes and Deion Richardson.
President of the ANYC, Mr. Michali Rey, described the effort as a very rewarding experience and reminded each victim that they are not forgotten, as the ANYC has pledged to support every young person. Mr. Rey also stated that the ANYC has plans to host a series of fundraising events, where proceeds from these events will be given back through the facilitation of training and activities which will be spearheaded by the organisation.
The Anguilla National Youth Council (ANYC) is a registered non-government umbrella organisation for youth and youth organisations in Anguilla. Its founding year is variously documented as 1976 or 1977 and its objective is “to advance and promote the general welfare and social progress of the people of Anguilla by focusing on the overall development of youth”.
