OIS PYP Coordinator and IB Consultant

As part of its exciting pathway to achieving International Baccalaureate (IB) status, the Omololu International School welcomed Mrs. Joyce Riechle, an International Baccalaureate Consultant specialising in the Primary Years Programme, a segment of the overall IB program. Her work at the school is an integral part of the school’s progress toward its mission to achieve verification to become an IB world school.
The Consultant met with all internal OIS stakeholders: the Board, staff, parents and students. This on-site liaison balances and complements the consultancy assistance provided by telephone, Skype and email that all IB Candidate schools such as OIS enjoy. The visit allows assessments and the hands-on sharing of advice and best practices which the consultants are well-informed to deliver given their wealth of personal experience through their years of teaching and leadership in IB schools.
During her visit, Mrs. Riechle, enjoyed the warm “vibe” of the school, and shared valuable advice on further embracing the PYP framework. She will provide the school with detailed and specific recommendations on the next steps to pursue. The consultant will continue her support to OIS PYP Coordinator Racquel Graham and staff, a process which began in September, 2013 and will continue for the upcoming two years.
The Board would like to express its sincere thanks to all the students, parents and staff for sharing their experiences and views with the Consultant and is looking forward to a successful continuation of the implementation of PYP at Omololu.
Omololu International School continues to strive to add richness and depth to its quality learning environment.
