Eleven officers – four females and seven males – of Armor Guard Patrol Security Service Ltd. participated in a two-week basic course from February 3-14. The training was conducted by Mr Neville Hamilton, an experienced former Senior Manager of the Prison Service for the past nineteen years.
The subject areas covered by the course included security, professional conduct, resolving conflict, communication, radio procedure, report writing, statement writing, making proper entries, used of force, local knowledge and various types of searches.
Certificates for successful completion of the training were distributed by Mr Mitchell Harrigan, who heads the security company. Mr Harrigan is a former Commissioner of Police in Anguilla.
Mr Hamilton commented that the course was a success with an average pass mark of 74%. “Mr Harrigan’s initiative to provide his officers with such training needs to be applauded,” Mr Hamilton stated. “The benefits belong to his clients, the general public, the officers themselves and Armor Guard Patrol Security Service Ltd as well. The service the company provides will definitely be an improved one. The way forward for the Armor Guard Patrol Security Service Ltd seems to be a very bright one.”
