The Department of Youth and Culture is proud to announce the departure of Mr. Omari Gumbs to attend the Mr. Caribbean Pageant in Dominica. Fully sponsored by the Department of Youth and Culture, the department remains committed to fulfilling our mandate of culture promotion and youth development. As outlined in outputs 2.2.4 and 2.2.5 of the department’s strategic plan, the department is aiming to develop opportunities for cultural exchange regionally and internationally as well as opportunities for artistes and practitioners to showcase and market Anguilla’s heritage regionally and internationally.
Mr. Gumbs will compete in the areas of talent, magnificent wear, swim wear and formal wear. The pageant will take place on Friday February 21st. Mr. Gumbs boasts five years as a member of the highly respected Klassique Academy of Dance. During his time at the academy, he has created a name for himself as a talented dancer and an exceptional choreographer. Omari is no stranger to pageantry as he has participated in Mr. Talented Teen and has trained countless contestants for various local and regional pageants.
