The sound of Anguillian Singer Amalia Watty is a soulful and jazzy blend that leaves your ears wanting more if you aren’t taken by her beauty first. New York City has welcomed the up and coming star with applause and praise for her amazing musical talents. At twenty-four the Anguilla native grew up on jazz and soul music with the songs of Louis Armstrong and Bill Withers played throughout her home. Today her influences in music range from Billie Holiday to Al Green to Sade.
This island gem also goes by the name Ms. Jazzy and has been noticed by big time Los Angeles based producer/song writer Jamie Houston (Steven Tyler, Carlos Santana, Sheryl Crowe, Miley Cyrus, Macy Grey, and Kid Rock) from 3000 miles away from a song on YouTube.
Amalia was recently featured on the “Watch List Select” by next2shine.com a site known for premiering big names like YouTube sensation Karmin, chart topper Gotye, and UK recording artist Labrinth and Tinnie Tempah long before they made their mark on the world. “Her sound is breathtaking,” wrote Carmen Ledesma of Latin Trends Up and Coming “she’s got a young face-but a voice as wise and knowing as one Ms. Nina Simone!”
Amalia, was Rey Hill Anguilla, began singing at the age of three years.
You can check out more of the lovely Amalia Watty on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @AmaliaWatty, you won’t be disappointed.
