The Vivien Vanterpool Primary School received a donation of fifteen HP laptops from the Webster family on behalf of their mother, Mrs. Zelma Webster. The four brothers, all formally dressed, had attended the primary school in previous years and saw the donation as a way to show their appreciation and love for their school and their mother. The school promises to put the new laptops to good use and was excited about the new donation. The fifteen laptops, purchased in St. Martin, cost six thousand US dollars and run on the new windows eight software. One of their many uses will be to teach Information Technology to the students.
Dr. Ellis Lorenzo Webster said: “To whom much is given much is expected. The thought and sacrifice is worth it to us to give back to this community and to this school. As my mother said, ‘education is the key to success” and we want to make sure that everyone has access to that education which can give him or her the chance to compete in the global system and in the world at large. As long as we have breath and have life we will continue to help.”
The Vivien Vanterpool Primary School, which presently has a roll of eighty-nine students, will have immediate work done to the wooden floor in the multi purpose unit that houses all peripatetic teachers. Also, the school is looking to acquire drums for the new Dynamic Drummers Band as a way to highlight the qualities in young boys. In the future, the school hopes to have a completely new school to teach the future generations of Anguilla.
