ssom Centre, at Auckland House in The Quarter, Anguilla, a facility established by the Arijah Children’s Foundation ACF, has acknowledged, with much gratitude, a donation of books by special delivery by Safe Cargo Services at Road Bay.
The books were donated by American Actress, Annie Potts. She wrote about Anguilla’s children with special needs to help raise awareness and funds to better assist them.
The Arijah Childre foundation will be holding a launch cermony in due course.
Mrs Evette Harrigan, Accounts Manager at Safe Cargo Services, expressed pleasure with the delivery of the books on Monday, January 6. “On behalf of King Ocean Services and Safe Cargo Services, we are pleased to fill the gap in getting the donated books to your school,” she told Mrs Renuka Harrigan, Founder of the Arijah Foundation.
“King Ocean has donated by way of waiving the freight charges from Miami to Anguilla – and Safe Cargo Services by waiving the brokerage, handling and delivery charges.”
The Accounts Manager continued: “King Ocean Services provides container and ocean transport services from Miami to Anguilla weekly, arriving Monday afternoons. In times of need, individuals or organisations are willing to donate goods to help others. That is where King Ocean and Safe Cargo come in.
“We would like to congratulate and encourage you [ACF] and your team in continuing to help the physically-challenged children in need…God will always make a way when there seems to be no way.”
Responding, Mrs Renuka Harrigan thanked King Ocean and Safe Cargo Services for their donation and encouragement.
The Arijah Children’s Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to serving Anguilla’s children with special needs. It raises funds to sustain the Blossom Centre which provides daily educational and therapeutic programmes aimed at developing the potential of the children.
