The Police are advising persons in Anguilla to remain alert as a result of the continuing thefts, robberies and burglaries on the island. One of the latest incidents occurred at South Hill on Wednesday, November 29. It was reported that two masked men, armed with guns, robbed a man of his wallet and jewellery while he was walking along the main road.
The overall Police Report for the period November 27 to December 4, showed a total of twelve “serious crimes” on the island. These included seven thefts at South Hill, George Hill, Cauls Bottom, West End, The Valley, Princess Alexandra Hospital and Little Harbour.
The stolen items included electrical wire, jewellery, a cellular phone, a kindle fire computer, a sum of money and goats.
One attempted burglary was reported at Island Harbour and two burglaries at Island Harbour and Rock Farm. Among the stolen items were a flat screen television set, a stereo set, car parts and money.
The criminal activities also includedone case of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
Six persons were arrested as follows: two males on bench warrants; one female on suspicion of theft; one male for unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor;one male for theft; and one male for assault.
There were six traffic accidents.
