Notwithstanding its financial difficulties, the National Bank of Anguilla Limited held its 25th Annual give-away function on Wednesday afternoon, December 18, during which staff members distributed gifts to many children.
“This is most certainly the time of year that everyone looks forward to, especially you the children,” Ms Marisa Gumbs, Manager, Operations, told the youngsters outside the bank. “There’s lots of food, going house to house visiting your relatives and friends, but most of all, it is a time when you receive presents from your loved ones. However, Christmas is much more than gifts. The real meaning of Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus. Therefore, in all of our merriment, we must try not to forget this. The three pillars that we should build on this season are love, peace and joy.”
Ms Gumbs added: “On behalf of all of us at the National Bank of Anguilla Ltd, I take this opportunity to wish all of you a very merry Christmas and that the New Year will be filled with prosperity, peace, love and joy.”
It is understood that the Caribbean Commercial Bank presented its gifts to children at the schools. Previously, the presentation event was held at the bank’s premises and the adjoining grounds of the Scouts and Guides Ruthwill Auditorium.
The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank is currently running both banks.
