photo 2-2The first Annual Kids Zone was a big hit at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium, on December 15th, 2013. Kids Zone, hosted by iPlan Eventz, Tiiffany Rogers and Romain Carty, provided a fun safe atmosphere for kids and adults to hang out and have a good time.
The Campus B location was transformed into what can be called a fun house with balloons, bouncy castles, games, popcorn stands, an arcade room and more. An upper deck was built for adults to lounge as a DJ played the latest hits for kids to rock to. Hit games included string fishing, basketball, bucket toss and singing. Some toys included tops pencils, pens, sticky toys, and finger puppets – with bigger toys like inflatable aliens with guitars available for purchase using bought redemption tickets.
A special performance by eleven- year-old Devyn had the crowd on it feet dancing and clapping along. At on point she took all the children on stage to dance their hearts out to the music. This was Devyn’s second performance in Anguilla. She sings soca music and is working on some hip hop and R&B as well. She said: “Early next year I should have an album. I just got the last two tracks done, so all we have to do is master it. Being somebody so young, doing Caribbean music, I try to be the ambassador for young kids so that’s what I try to do.”
Devyn performed three original songs with a mix of other songs and had an outfit change throughout her performance. She greeted her new fans after her performance.

Platinum sponsor LIME was thanked for putting together the event along with co-sponsors La Vue, Viceroy, Richards Architecture and twenty-one other sponsors. Hosts Mr. Romain and Ms. Rodgers said: ”It’s the first that something of this caliber has been done. People are already asking for next year. Next year we will be even better!”
The overall cost of the event was around two thousand dollars.
