openhouse (1 of 1)For the second consecutive time, apprentices of the Ani Art Academies Anguilla will have their artwork displayed at the highly anticipated “Heroes, Villains, Myths and Legends” exhibit at Rehs Contemporary Galleries, Inc. in New York City this March. This year, eight artists, Romaro Richardson, Shanicia Richardson, Canita Ruan, Elena Green, Elizardo Mojica, Emily Garlick, and Lynne Garlick from the Academy will have their beautiful black and white charcoal drawings in the gallery on the well-known 57th Street.
Last year, the gallery hosted The Big Gamble, which brought in more than 700 people attending and plenty of sales. This year, Rehs Contemporary Galleries, Inc. presents “Heroes, Villains, Myths, and Legends”. Opening March 15, 2014, this exhibit will be the second significant concentration of works from the Ani Art Academes’ instructors, current apprentices, alumni and associates. A broad theme was given to the artists to express themselves through characters and/or individuals who inspire them. This upcoming year, over 60 artists with close to 70 drawings and paintings will be included in the show.
But before the artwork ships to New York City, the Ani Art Academies Anguilla will be hosting an open house for the public to view. Not only will the students display their drawings headed to the gallery, but also they will be showing creative projects and exercises they take on in the program. The open house will be held on Saturday, January 4th 2014 from 5:30 PM-7:30 PM at the Ani Art Academy Anguilla studio. The Ani Art Academies welcomes all from the community to join for some food and drink, as well as some spectacular artwork from local Anguillan apprentices.
For more information about this event, please contact Timothy Jahn at (201) 244-4644. For more information about The Ani Art Academies, visit the website at www.aniartacademies.org.
