The Anguilla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACOCI) organized the 2nd Annual Golf Tournament in Anguilla, on Saturday 14th December, and gave all proceeds to the Anguilla Community College (ACC). Through the help of sponsors, the ACC was able to award a scholarship to its first ever recipient Ms. Wykeisha Mills, seventeen.
Ms. Mills, currently a student at the Community College, said, “I am delighted to be the recipient – of this scholarship and that the Chamber of Commerce and Community College have established this scholarship for young persons like me. I wish to give a big thank you to the Chamber, with the assistance of the Community College, for providing me with the financial assistance as I pursue my studies towards obtaining an Associate’s degree in Business Studies.”
Platinum sponsor Digicel and co sponsors Elvis Beach Bar, Fun Time Boat Charters etc, were thanked during the closing ceremony for their continued commitment to education in Anguilla.
President of the Anguilla Community College, Dr. Delroy M. Louden, said, “We look forward to the continued support from the business community and from the wider Anguillian community.”
Registration for the eighteen-hole course began at eight in the morning with a turnout of fifty-two players. The competition went on for six hours. Players with the best shots and scores were given small glass trophies, spa packages, lunches for two, and other prizes, making this year’s tournament a winning occasion for all.
