Viceroy has continued its monthly communication to its staff in the form of its All Colleague Meetings. These are very interactive discussions between colleagues and members of the Management team at Viceroy Anguilla. The meetings for the month of November were held in the morning and afternoon, on Friday, November 22.

The matters discussed included the continuing high performance of the hotel; plans to continue improving the five-star property; the excellent service provided to guests by the 460 colleagues; and a robust award recognition system for those showing outstanding performance in their work. All of this, and more, came in the run-up to Thanksgiving this week as well as the coming busy Christmas Season.

Mr Richard Alexander, Viceroy Anguilla General Manager, presided over the meetings at which there were other speakers from among the Executive Team who spoke on various areas of the work of the resort. He was pleased to inform the excited colleagues that the resort had a very successful season last year. He was further delighted to report that the 2013/2014 season was showing an even better trend, in the operations of the hotel, in terms of guest arrivals and revenue. He credited a large portion of Viceroy’s success to the excellent customer service so well demonstrated by colleagues to the guests, many of whom are continuing to be repeat visitors.

Mr Alexander spoke about some of the incentives for colleagues. These included Employees of the Month, Supervisors of the Year and Managers of The Quarter Awards Gala in which their spouses/partners would also attend. He told the colleagues about increases in service charge, with December being one of the months with the biggest pay packages.
At each of the two meetings, a number of colleagues, from among many nominees, were presented with awards. The awardees for the month of July were: Zenya Greenaway (Human Resources), Colleague of the Month (Back of house); Jeri-Lee Buddle (Front Desk), Colleague of the Month (Front of House); Sweenda Adams (Food & Beverage), Supervisor of the Month; and Jean L’Etang (Culinary – Pastry), Manager of the Quarter (Q2). Those for the month of August were John Campo (Security), Colleague of the Month (Back of House); Gerald Fleming (Food & Beverage), Colleague of the Month (Front of House); Tuneero Connor (Pool and Beach), Supervisor of the Month; and Hue Carty (Engineering), Manager of the Quarter (Q3).

Marah Gumbs (Front Office Manager) and Jeremy Buchanan (Shift Engineer) were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the Viceroy NY taskforce. These 2 colleagues worked with fellow colleagues from various Viceroy Properties across the world to open the NY property, which welcomed their 1st official guests on October 9th.

The General Manager said that as part of the upgrading of the property, and its appeal to guests, staff uniforms were now being designed to be rolled out in the New Year. This smart attire would be for colleagues employed in Food & Beverage, at the Front Office and other guest relations sections of the resort. The Security and Landscaping personnel have taken the lead in showcasing their attractive uniforms.
