Members of the community, including some personnel and friends of the Anguilla Community College, were entertained at a social function over the weekend by the President of the institution, Dr Delroy Louden, and Mrs Louden, at their South Hill residence overlooking Road Bay.
Commenting on the context of the event, Professor Louden said those present comprised “a group of persons who are friends from long time ago, and acquaintances with whom I have maintained contact – who are influential in supporting what we are doing at the Anguilla Community College.”
He went on: “I am glad that they all were able to join me in this little celebration. It is fun. I couldn’t do it without them. It is not just my birthday, but also to say thank you to many of them for being so supportive of my work throughout the years and throughout my career. It is good to say thank you to others because you can climb, but you can fall.
“I think it is all part of what I am trying to do at the College: embracing the community and extending linkages and collaboration.
The building of a college is a story-telling where you need the support of everyone. The people here are among those who have been with me through the long-term. There are no fair weather friends here.”
