One of the hospitality students at the Anguilla Community College who is hoping to gradate next year, with an Associated Degree, is Kalyn Bartlette. She took off time to manage the hospitality booth at the college’s open day activity on Thursday, November 14, and to serve some of the delicacies prepared by the kitchen staff for the occasion.
In her remarks to the media during the occasion, Ms Bartlette spoke highly about the hospitality studies being provided by the college, and the rewarding experience she is enjoying.
“This is my second year here at the college and it is very interesting, she stated. “So far we have done courses such as food and beverage; bake theory, customer service, and events management. All of these courses are very interesting and enjoyable.”

Ms Bartlette recalled that about two to three weeks ago she and her fellow hospitality students formed two groups and organized two separate events. One was a costume party and the other was a sunset masquerade sail which were both very successful.
She paid much tribute to Mrs Ernie Hodge-Carty, an Events Planner, who was part of her group and also served as one of the judges. Ms Bartlette thought that the sailing event was of much help to the students studying events planning as well as the other hospitality courses.
