Alistair Harrison, former Governor of Anguilla, was honoured by The Queen on 30 October with the award of the CMG – Companion of St Michael and St George. Governor Harrison’s award was announced in June 2012 during his stay in Anguilla to mark his services to Anguilla. Governor Harrison and family are pictured outside Buckingham Palace after he received the award. In a statement he said:” I am delighted to have been honoured by The Queen in connection with my service in Anguilla. I should like to thank everyone on Anguilla without whom this award would not have happened, including the Chief Minister and Government. I would also like to thank the members of my office, the public service, and many others on Anguilla for their help during our time there. But above all I want to thank Sarah, without whom I could not have done the job of Governor, and our children for their constant support and encouragement. I was delighted that they were able to attend the ceremony and be part of an unforgettable day.”
