Course Facilitators Mr. John Campbell, Director Mark Mungal, Mrs. Chanelle Barrett, Mr. Clarkson and other persons involved in sport and physical activity met at a Training of Trainers Workshop at the Ronald Webster Park to brainstorm after school activity programmes for children.

The goal is to put sports teams in place around the island to gainfully engage young children and make sufficient use of their leisure time. This will give them involved in school a safe haven to let out their pent up energy in a simple and enjoyable way. The sports teams will include volleyball, basketball, football, crickezt and other sports.

Mr. John Campbell of Caricom, based in Guyana, has spent years trying to bring such a team together and calls the workshop, “history in the making.” The team is hoping to draw on the knowledge and expertise of other members to find out what should be the next step. The whole programme depends on the cooperation and initiative of the team members. The programme is hoping to bring the best out of young people and model their behaviour to be more positive and charismatic. Mrs. Chanelle Petty Barret stated: “It is not just about athlete development but about modeling a line of citizens that can make a meaningful contribtution to society.”
