Post Graduate Diploma in Education Certificate Holders

The Anguilla Community College (ACC) recognized and awarded students who excelled in their academic programmes at their annual certificate presentation ceremony held on Wednesday November 13th 2013. In addition to those who achieved an A grade, special recognition was given to undergraduate students who made the Dean’s and President’s List as well as graduate students who received the Dean’s Commendation.

The Dean’s list, President’s list and Dean’s Commendation were established in an effort to recognize excellence in academic pursuit in the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and to motivate students to aspire to academic excellence. Students recognized were pursuing Associate degrees in Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) or Business Studies (BS) or a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). Persons are eligible for the list each semester.
THE DEAN’S LIST is calculated on a semester basis. Eligible students must:
• achieve a grade point average of 3.25 or above for the semester; a 3.25 GPA is just on the cusp of a B and a B plus
THE PRESIDENT’S LIST is finalized at the end of the academic year. Eligibility requires students to appear on the Dean’s List twice in the academic year

There were three exceptional students who made the President’s list. They are listed below

Maria Marlene Hughes who is currently pursuing a Postgraduate diploma in Education received the Achievement of Distinction for the highest cumulative grade point average for the Academic Year 2012/2013.

Other persons pursuing the postgraduate diploma who received high GPA’s also received the Dean’s Commendation for Summer 2012/2013.

The Anguilla Community College would like to extend congratulations to all students who received these distinguished awards.
There were a number of other students who were recognized during the award ceremony. We would like to say congratulations as well to those in the Division of Continuing and Adult Education who successfully completed and/or passed their CSEC/CXC Examinations and Photo Pro.
In the Division of Technology a number of students received certificates for successfully passing the Basic Electrical Installation Course and in the Division of Natural Sciences; graduates of the Geriatric Care programme also received their certificates. Students were also recognized for exceptional performance in individual subject areas.
