The Royal Anguilla Police Force has reported three incidents of rape among 12 serious crimes during the period September 25 to October 2.
According to Inspector Emris Rogers there was one report of rape in The Valley and two reports of attempted rape in the Long Ground area.
In a separate case, one male was arrested for rape and sodomy and another male for indecent assault.
Five males were arrested on suspicion of theft, one male for being armed with an offensive weapon and another male on a default warrant.
Inspector Rogers also said there were five theft reports in the villages of George Hill, The Valley, Stoney Ground and West End. Items stolen included candies, soft drinks, a digital camera and cash.
There were four burglary reports in West End, South Hill, East End and North Side. The stolen items included a radio and cash.
There were six traffic accident reports-all of a minor nature.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Rudolph Proctor said there were continuing investigations of the rape cases that occurred in The Valley and Long Ground areas.
He stated that what was particularly alarming was that the rapes were occurring after school hours involving school girls on their way home.
Mr Proctor reported that in both incidents the offender was focused on committing a crime causing the victims to be traumatized.
He said while the police could not yet make a connection whether the rapes were done by the same person, there was a similiarity in the two cases.
Mr Proctor is urging parents to be in contact with their child or children to ensure they arrive safely at home.
He is appealing to members of the public who may have any information relating to the rape cases to report to the police so that the perpetrator or perpetrators can be taken off the streets before they can commit another crime.
