On Friday September 13, School Health Services in the Department of Education celebrated its 6th year of Healthy School day in observance of Caribbean Wellness day. On that day, students and staff of all schools on Anguilla participated in exercises for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Having a healthy lifestyle was promoted throughout the day. Special sessions on healthy eating and exercise were conducted at some schools. Everyone was encouraged to eat healthy meals and especially healthy snacks. Drinking water was emphasized. The cultivation and consumption of local fruits and vegetables was stressed. Students were encouraged to learn to identify the indigenous fruits and eat them.
The importance of getting adequate sleep on a regular basis was stressed.
