The thrilling series So You Think You Can Perform produced by the Theatre Arts Department of the ALHCS, under the leadership of Mrs. Trevreen Queeley-Javois, culminated on Saturday 28th September 2013.

Round 1 of the series was held on June 29th with 17 participants. Round 2 followed on August 28th. All shows were held at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium.

Saturday’s Finale ended with popular dancer Miekaile Browne being proclaimed ‘The Ultimate Performer’. Singing duo J2 – Jordia Hodge and Jovoncia Proctor were 1st Runner-Up and dancer Yerdi Fleming 2nd Runner-Up.

The audience was also treated to performances by guest artistes of the ilk of Omari Banks, Frank-Man, D.M.B featuring Lioness (Daniella Richardson), Saxboy (Trevor Queeley), Miss Anguilla (Amethyst Davis) and Gina Grell.

So You Think You Can Perform, which increased the opportunities for Anguilla’s youth to showcase and develop their many and varied performing talents, was held as a fundraising venture to enable the Theatre Arts Department to participate in the Caribbean Secondary Schools Drama Festival which will be held in Barbados from the 7th to the 15th December 2013. At that event the Department will present an original theatrical production which is currently being developed.
