Marlon Harrigan and Silwood ConnorAs Senior Minister of Sports in the Nevis Island Administration, I am deeply saddened at the horrific news of the deaths of 2 drag racers in our neighbouring island of Anguilla. I am advised that these two young men would have been journeying to Nevis today to be a part of the Independence drag racing competition slated for the 21st and 22nd of September, 2013.
I wish to extend my deepest condolences to the families of these two young men as well as to the drag racing fraternity and to the people of Anguilla generally. I urge our drag racers to pursue the sport responsibly ensuring to take all safety precautions so that we are not again subject to such a terrible tragedy.

May God’s mercies extend now to those who mourn and may we all find solace in His everlasting arms.”
