Anguilla conducted volleyball level one coaching course
Mr. Dan Girleanu, a bronze medal winner with the Romanian National Volleyball team in the 1980 Olympics, was in Anguilla conducting a Volleyball Cooperation Program (VPC) level one coaching course. Mr. Girleanuwas in Anguilla since September 1st 2013 taking fourteen participants through the theory and practical sessions of basic volleyball coaching. Participants were exposed to many techniques that could be applied to their team training. They also found the sessions to be informative, rigorous but most importantly, enjoyable.
This course was made available through the efforts of Mr. Glen Quinlan of the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA), NORCECA and the Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB). The Volleyball Cooperation program (VPC) is designed for Level 1 and 2 members to further develop volleyball within their countries. The Anguilla Amateur Volleyball Association (AAVA) is most grateful for the assistance provided by the FIVB and intends on using this facility to further develop players, coaches and Physical Education teachers to enhance the sport of Volleyball within Anguilla.
The AAVA would like to formally thank the ECVA, NORCECA, FIVB and the Department of Sports for facilitating this event. By extension the AAVA would also like to thank Coach Dan Girleanu and the participants for taking the time to attend the course.
