POLICE REPORT: 7 Thefts, 2 Burglaries

The Anguilla Police reported on Wednesday that twelve “serious crimes” were committed on the island during the period September 4-11.
Of that number, there were seven thefts in The Valley, Blowing Point, Sandy Ground and Island Harbour. The stolen items included a BlackBerry cellular phone, a DVD player, electricity and various supplies including perfume, sheets and towels from the Clothes Line Store.

Two burglaries were reported at South Hill and North Side where money was stolen.
Other matters included a case of wounding and one of deception.

Meanwhile, Police arrested and charged Juan EvanelistaMarteSabino of Rey Hill for possession of stolen goods. He was taken before the Magistrate’s Court on Thurday, September 5, and remanded to prison.

There were eight arrests during the above period as follows: Five males for possession of cannabis; one male for possession of cocaine; one male for possession of stolen goods; and one male to prevent a breach of the peace.
