CuisinArt Golf Resort and Spa closed out the 2012-2013 tourism season with its annual staff party and presentation of awards and prizes on Tuesday night at Italia Restaurant. The event had as its theme: “Masquerade Dinner & Dance”.
General Manager, Stephane Zaharia, said the event was a celebration of the resort’s over 400 employees who had worked very hard during what he described as “a wonderful season.” He spoke about the company’s plans to continue to develop the propertywhich will include a second hotel called the Reef. He reported that among the guests already booked for the 2013-2014 season were “some really interesting groups”whom the resort was looking forward to welcome.
Mr Zahria thanked the staff, on behalf of the owner of the property, Mr Leandro Rizzuto, for their dedicated work, and congratulated all the winners of awards and prizes. He added that the resort would formally reopen on October 19, but that the employees were expected to return to their jobs a few days earlier to prepare to welcome the arriving guests.
The presentation ceremony included the distribution of awards to some thirteen employees for ten years of service from 2003-2013. These were Keiron Bradley, Edualdo Bryan, Janice Cocks, Celestine Connor, Elizabeth Connor, Nicolson Connor, Collette Coppin,Garmon Greenaway, Margie Hodge, George Lake, Travis Richardson, Diane Santana-Gumbs and Colin Yearwood.
The winners of the season and their awards were: Employee of the Season, Latoya Scarbro: A glass plaque, a complimentary three-night stay for two at the Ritz Carlton in Puerto Rico; a round-trip ticket to Puerto Rico and US$200.
Team Leader of the Season, Maureen Gumbs: A glass plaque, a complimentary three-night stay for two at Four Seasons in Nevis; a roundtrip ticket to Nevis; and US$200.
Ambassador of the Season, Brian Corbett: A glass plaque, a complimentary three-night stay for two at La Samana in St Maarten and US$225.
Supervisor of the Season, Ruth Carty: A glass plaque, a complimentary three-night stay for two at Carlisle Bay in Antigua, a round-trip ticket to Antigua and US$250.
Manager of the Season, Merla Smith: A complimentary three-night stay for two at Plaza Athenee in New York and US$300.
Among other features of the ceremony was the recognition of employees with no late or sick reports during the season. They were the recipients of US$100 each. Many other employees won various raffle prizes.
The event, which commenced shortly after 6 pm, continued with the serving of dinner followed by party time dancing, with DJ Legend, until 12 midnight.
