Ms Caroma Walters, a bar attendant at Viceroy Anguilla, is the recipient of a scholarship from the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Educational Foundation (CHTAEF). The award will enable her to attend a four-month Bartender Course at the Anguilla Community College commencing January 2014.
A certificate presentation ceremony was held at Viceroy on Friday, August 23, in recognition of Ms Walter’s achievement.
A release from Viceroy’s Department of Human Resources Stated as follows:
” Caroma Walters has been involved in the hospitality industry for 7+ years. She is constantly seeking ways to improve her customer service skills. This resulted in her decision to apply to Anguilla Community College to further her studies in the hospitality field. Caroma’s goal is to combine practical experience and knowledge to strengthen her professional growth.
“Caroma’s guest engagement skills truly demonstrate the line in Viceroy Anguilla’s mission statement “touch the heart and soul of every guest”. She is often rated as one of the employees who provide exceptional service which exceeds guest expectations. Caroma is very creative and has hand crafted mementos for guests to ensure they have tangible reminders of their visit to Anguilla.
“Caroma is dedicated and can be relied upon to see the job through to the end. During her 2+ years with Viceroy Anguilla she has been promoted to the position of bartender.”
She was highly commended by Mr Richard Alexander, Viceroy’s General Manager; Mr DyalSandu, Assistant Food and Beverage Director; Mr Delroy Lake, President of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association (AHTA); Mrs Sherrille Hughes, who spoke on behalf of the CHTAEF; and Ms Sharon Richardson, Acting Dean of the Anguilla Community College.
Mr Lake took the opportunity to commend Viceroy for its continued support of the AHTA and for the scholarship award to one of its deserving colleagues.
