TransPharm Ltd, a nutritional supplement, fitness & lifestyle accessories company, owned by Csaesare Wattley, is donating specially designed bullet proof vests to the EMS Department of the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
In light of the recent shootings and resulting trauma victims, Wattley decided to equip the EMS Department with bulletproof vests so as to be better prepared and equipped to respond to such incidents. All over the world EMS Departments are a neutral department whose primary concern is providing care regardless of the conflict and “…to conserve life, alleviate suffering, promote health, do no harm, and encourage the quality and equal availability of emergency medical care…” to everyone.
Wattley has been an EMT at the Princess Alexandra Hospital since 2005 and says that over this time the need to have protective ballistic gear for the department personnel, has been a continuously raised issue. Wattley says that as an EMT he is committed to providing the best level of care in this volatile climate and wants to ensure that his colleagues have the right equipment so that they may be ready to assist and respond in any situation. Sometimes you just have to “…bite the bullet…no pun intended and just get things done…and so that’s why TransPharm is doing this…”
McDowall, Senior EMT of the EMS Department at the Princess Alexandra Hospital stated that he was grateful to Wattley for his contribution to his department and that these bullet proof vests had been much needed equipment for some time. On behalf of his department and staff at the EMS Department, McDowall expressed his thanks to Wattley for his company’s contribution in ensuring the safety of the EMT’s while on call.
