The Anguilla Red Cross with which Ms Jiva Niles served as a Volunteer Worker, has expressed a big thank you to her and wished her great success in her studies at the University of the Virgin Islands.
Ms Niles joined the Junior Red Cross as a student at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School in 2006. She became President in 2008 and served for two years. Following that she served as Deputy Programme Manager and Peer Education in 2011 and Programme Manager in 2012.
Speaking about her service, she stated: “Being part of the Anguilla Red Cross has added to both my personal and professional development. I have been afforded training opportunities that I am very grateful for, as well as meeting other young people from across the movement. In fact, having completed First Aid has led me to the path of wanting to pursue a career in medicine. I believethat many more young people should become involved in the work of the Red Cross.”

A press release from Ricky Rouphine, Coordinator of the Anguilla Red Cross, stated that the organisation would continue its Junior Red Cross programme at the Comprehensive School and the Primary Schools this year. Interested students needing further information should contact the office by telephoning 497 0496 or emailing info@redcross.org.ai.
