Both workshops, organised by the Education Department, commenced on Monday, August 19. The workshop, at the Teachers’ Resource Centre, was arranged for Principals, Deputy Principals and other members of the Senior Management Teams at the Primary Schools and the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School. The focus was on Instructional Leadership and Management.

The workshop, attended by over fifty participants, was facilitated by American educator, Mr Trent North, of Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States.

The other workshop, which was also attended by a similar number of participants, focused on Mathematics and was arranged for Primary School Teachers from Kindergarten to Grade 2. The sessions included the use of games and stories aimed at making the teaching and learning of Mathematics fun and interesting. The workshop also provided ways in which teachers can assess and measure the progress of students in Mathematics.

The facilitators, from the Isle of Wight, were Jane and Gary Booth and April and Alan Barry.
