The Police Report for the period July 17-31 showed that there were three thefts in Rock Farm, South Hill and Stoney Ground. The stolen items included copper wire, a sheet of metal and a sum of money.
One robbery was reported at the Blowing Point Convenience Store on July 28 at about 2.12 am. The report to the Police stated that two masked men entered the business place and robbed the owner as well as one of the customers.
The owner reported that both men had guns. One of the assailants appeared to have had a nine millimetre gun with an attached silencer. The other man, standing at the door, carried what appeared to have been a shotgun. One of the gunmen placed his weapon at the owner’s head and demanded money. The businessman was robbed of US$280 and EC$200. The customer reported that one of the men ordered him to lie on the ground and took his wallet which contained his social security card and his Santo Domingo ID card.
There was one burglary in The Valley in which an unknown sum of money was stolen; and one attempted burglary was reported at Tackling Estate.
Nine persons were arrested during the period as follows: four males to prevent a breach of the peace; one female for theft; one male for indecent assault; two males on a warrant in the first instance; and one male for grievous bodily harm.
