Three nationals from the Dominican Republic, said to be living in St. Maarten, were arrested by Police in Anguilla last week on drug charges and were expected to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday this week.
They were arrested on Dog Island where 31 bales of cocaine, two automatic firearms and several rounds of ammunition were found and seized.
The men were charged with illegal entry; possession of drugs; importation of drugs and possession of firearms and ammunition.
The estimated street value of the cocaine was put at twenty-five million US dollars.
