DSC_4646The Hello Tourist Program – an education awareness program designed for grade 6 students of the primary schools across the island is a collaborative effort of the Anguilla Tourist Board in partnership with the Anguilla Hotel & Tourism Association and the Education Department.
Project Coordinator, Twyla Richardson-Thomas, worked with each of the primary schools and hotel properties to ensure that we were able to provide the future of our tourism industry with a world-class experience, sensitizing them to the importance of tourism on the island. Each school was sponsored by a different hotel as follows:
Viceroy Resort —– Vivien Vanterpool Primary School
Cuisinart Golf Resort & Spa—– Valley Primary School
Cap Juluca Hotel—- Orealia Kelly Primary School
Anacaona Boutique Hotel—- Adrian T Hazell Primary School
Paradise Cove—— Alwyn Allison Primary School
Anguilla Great House—-Central Christian School
Carimar Beach Club——Morris Vanterpool Primary School
Spyglass Hill Villa——- Omolulu International School

Students who successfully completed the various components of the program were treated to an overnight stay at their sponsoring property. They all dined at various restaurants and eateries across the island, as well as were given an island tour with stops to tourist attractions and historics sites where tour guides, Farah Mukhida of the Anguilla National Tourist and/or Oliver Hodge of OH Tours were able to provide the students with important educational information regarding the sites.

To mark the culmination of the program, all students attended a Hello Tourist Cocktails and Awards Ceremony on Tuesday of last week at the Anguilla Tourist Board. The ceremony was fully sponsored by our industry partners to whom we are again grateful. The results of the Hello Tourist projects were announced at this event, and are listed below:
