Dominoes:-
The Domino Association held a 4 Hand tournament at Straw’s in South Hill over the weekend. Only 6 teams took part namely, Lions, Grillers, Bocca Chica, K9, Stars and Garage Boys. Three rounds were played on Saturday and two rounds on Sunday.
The Association used the Rules which govern the Domino Federation in order for teams to familiarize themselves with the rules and understand the meanings.
Here are the Results for the weekend.

Netball:-
The Anguilla Amateur Netball Association will be running a week-long Netball Camp for all primary school-aged girls, commencing on July 8th and culminating with a 2-day exhibition tournament on July 13th & 14th. The camp is offered free of cost and runs from 5-6:30pm daily on the netball court at the J.R.W.P. Please encourage all interested girls to attend.
Sports Summer Camp:-
The Department of Sports will be having its annual summer camp for children ages 6-14 from 8th – 26th July 2013at the James Ronald Webster Park. Sports offered are Volleyball, Netball, Basketball, Cricket and Table Tennis. Registration fee is $75.00ec which covers refreshments and a t-shirt. Registration can be done at the Department of Sports.
Basketball:-
The local basketball finals game 1 was played on Sunday June 30th between the Hoyas and Shottaz. The Shottaz won convincingly by a score of 72 -43. Javille Brooks led the Shottaz with 11 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assist. Macwhirr Louis top scored for the Hoyas with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Game 2 is scheduled to be played Monday 1st July.

Cricket:-
The Leeward Islands under 19 Tournament started this weekend. Anguilla played in 2 one day matches against St. Maarten. Anguilla won both matches.
On Saturday June 29th St Maarten won the toss and decided to bat first and was bowled out for a low score of 93 runs. Much was accredited to the tight bowling from the Anguilla Team. Dimitri Adams bowled 8 overs for 4 maidens, 13 runs and took 4 wickets. Viglef Gumbs picked up 2 wickets as well as Mark Gokarran. Anguilla made 96 for 5. Dimitri Adams top scored with 33 not out.
On Sunday June 30th, St Maarten again won the toss and decided to bat first. Again they were bowled out cheaply for 108 runs. The match was interrupted by rain which reduced the overs to 25. Jacob Parles bowled 4.3 overs for 17 runs and picked up 3 wickets. Mark Gokkaran also picked up 3 wickets. Anguilla made 110 for 1 wicket. Mark Gokarran top scored with 45 not out, Asharn Hodge made 19 and Rana Adams made 12 not out.
Cycling:-
On Sunday June 30th fifteen cyclist took part in the last warm up race before the John .T . Memorial Race which will be held on Sunday 7th July 2013.
The race took place along the Jeremiah Gumbs Highway before a large enthusiastic crowd which came to an end at about six o’clock.
The results were as follows;
1st Akiem Sasso
2nd Joseph Hercules
3rd Justin Hodge
This year Anguilla will be represented by a team of nine cyclists in the JTM Race, they are:
Benjamin (Donga) Philip
Devaughn Richardson
Justin Hodge
Ronnie Bryan
Vinesh Narine
Sherwin Osbourne
Ricardo Romney
Alreco Connor

Other participating countries include: Antigua, Aruba, Curacao, Nevis, St. Kitts, St. Martin, Guyana, and Guadeloupe and for the first time Puerto Rico. The race is schedule to start in front of Lime office at 10:30am.

Billiards (Pool):-
Mr. Eric Hughes, a U.S born of Anguilla parents will be visiting Anguilla in July to promote the sport of billiards better known as pool. Mr. Hughes is inviting all interested pool players to attend two very important meetings that will be held during his visit.
The first meeting will take place at the Lucian Bar in the Valley at 8:00pm on Thursday 11th. The second meeting will place at Jahm Dungh Bar and Restaurant in the Farrington at 8:00pm on Saturday 13th.
Mr. Hughes is inviting players from all parts of Anguilla to attend these meetings and participate in a great sport

World University Games:-
Three young Anguillians will represent Anguilla at this year’s World University Games to be held Karzan Russia.

The team consist of Dee-Ann Rogers who will participate in the Heptathlon, Denvil Ruan in the triple jump and Zhinga Banks in tennis. The team is accompanied by Mr. Winston Duncan and Ms. Juline Hughes.
