On Saturday 6th July a wide cross section of the Anguillans society witnessed a keenly contested Body Building and Fitness Competition at The Rodney McArthur Rey Auditorium held by The Anguilla Amateur Body Building & Fitness Federation thus making it their 12th annual competition.
The male categories were Junior Physique (23 years and under), Open Physique (over 23years), Open Body Building. The women categories were Bikini and Open Figure Fitness. History was written when for the first time a Kids Exhibition ages 8 to 12 years was introduced.
In the Male juniors’ category Kishon Rogers, Hilroy Alfred, and Simba Price emerged first, second, and third respectively from a field of ten athletes. The Men Open Physique was won by MacWhirr Lewis, Myron Connor, and Duquaine Brooks came second and third respectively.
There were three competitors in the Women Figure Open Class Roxanne Pinnock, Loren Hunte, Renee Harvey, who came in first, second, and third respectively.
In the Men Open Class we saw Geshaune Clarke, Michael Connor, and Horace Edwards winning first, second, and third respectively.
In the Kids Exhibition we saw Kaeae Rey and Dimar Richardson which was favorably accepted by the audience.
Through this media the Board of The Anguilla Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation wishes to reiterate our expression of appreciation to all the athletes for their hard work and effort. We would like to thank our many fans and supporters of the sport for their commitment over the past thirteen years and look forward to their continued support in years to come. We would also like to say thanks to Transpharm Ltd. for their sponsorship towards this competition and look forward to future working relationships.
The athletes are now looking forward to competing in the fourth Annual Inter Island Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship Games in St. Martin on August 3rd and the Central American and Caribbean Championship games which will be held in Santo Domingo in September
