On behalf of the Government and people of Jamaica, the wider Caribbean Family and the African Diaspora, I hereby offer and extend heart felt congratulations, thanks and salutation to the great nation of Anguilla for the very successful staging of the second annual Anguilla Lit Fest 2013.

I am personally honoured to have been invited and I have been greatly inspired and motivated and hope I was able to positively touch the lives of those with whom I was fortunate to connect through the Lit Fest itself as well as the workshops conducted at the W.I.S.E campus, the seminar for Youth and Culture through the Ministry of Social Development as well as the Rehabilitation and Development department of HM Prison.

Special thanks and continued blessings to the government and people of Anguilla, the Anguilla Tourist Board, The Lit Fest Committee, the 2013 participants, the Anguilla Public Library, Lynne and the Irie Life Family, Paradise Cove, Reginald and Stephanie, the Anguillan Media, the media present at the Lit Fest, the attendants, the Underground Poetry Family, the LaVue/Flavour Family, Veya, the great poets and students and all others who impacted the Lif Fest directly or indirectly.

I truly hope that more of the very talented poets, writers and other literary giants will be featured on Anguilla Lit Fest 2014 and all the succeeding stagings as Anguilla continue to galvanize her beautiful country and the rest of the Caribbean and magnetize the region and the entire Global community.

Honour, Love and continued Prosperity.

With Honour, Love & Poetry,

YASUS AFARI
