Several days after one hundred senior seniors toured Viceroy in the run up to Anguilla Day, and were treated to a luncheon at Coba Restaurant, General Manager, Richard Alexander, said it was a great delight for him and all others at the high-end resort.
“My colleague, Seymour Hodge, approached me several months ago asking if we would be kind enough to allow some senior citizens to visit the resort and understand what Viceroy Anguilla is all about,” Mr. Alexander told The Anguillian on Monday this week. I was delighted to welcome a hundred senior citizens to the resort, the day before Anguilla Day.
“They came in two waves of fifty – the first group arrived at about 10.30. We arranged for a coach to pick them up and bring them here. We divided them into groups of ten and then escorted them around the resort, showed them the public areas, some bedrooms and some key operational areas at the resort.
“The second group of fifty senior citizens arrived at about midday and all one hundred had lunch together in the Coba Restaurant which we were very happy to provide. After lunch, this second group did the same as the first – a tour around the resort. The ambassadors who showed them around – local colleagues –were delighted to mix with the senior citizens. The feedback I got from them was that these citizens really enjoyed it and we will probably be doing something similar next year.”
The General Manager declined to reveal any cost to the resort by the event. “The price to pay is minimal. What are a hundred lunches and the cost of a coach? Minimal, minimal. It really worth it,” he said. “We are happy to do it again for senior citizens, or any other society group that would like to visit the resort and understand what a wonderful job the local Anguillian staff do to make our tourist guests happy.”
