POLICE REPORT 4 THEFTS, 6 BURGLARIES

The Police in Anguilla reported thirteen serious crimes on the island during the period May 29 – June 5.
Of that number, there were four thefts in The Valley, West End, Statia Valley and Blowing Point. The stolen items included Blackberry cellular phone, water, jewellery and car parts.

Six burglaries were reported at Stoney Ground, Shoal Bay, Mount Fortune and George Hill. Among the stolen items were groceries, a DVD player, a laptop computer,several bottles of liquor, bath towels and a sum of money.
One attempted burglary was reported at North Side and two attempted robberies at Rey Hill and Little Dix.

Ten persons were arrested during the period as follows: four males for possession of cannabis; one female on a default warrant; one male for disorderly conduct; one male on suspicion of robbery; one male for obstruction; one male for assault and resisting arrest; and one male for possession of a firearm.
There were six traffic accidents.

On Monday, June 3, the Drugs and Firearms Task Force discovered 312 cannabis plants in the Long Bay area. No arrests have been made.
For the past month, 229 cannabis plants were discovered at North Hill; 117 at Roaches Hill and 58 at Sile Bay.
