POLICE REPORT 16 CRIMES REPORTED FOR JUNE 5 – 12

Police in Anguilla reported on Wednesday this week that sixteen serious crimes were committed on the island during the period June 5-12.

Of that number, there were nine thefts in The Valley, West End, Sandy Ground, Cedar Village, Little Harbour, South Hill, The Quarter and Blowing Point. The stolen items included Blackberry cellular phones, water, jewellery, an Iphone, a trash can, a computer and car parts.

There were six burglaries in Stoney Ground, West End, Roaches Hill and East End. Among the stolen items were groceries, a DVD player, jewellery, a television set, a radio amplifier and money.

One case of murder was reported at North Side (see story elsewhere).

Six persons were arrested during the period as follows: two males on a default warrant; one male to prevent a breach of the peace; two males on suspicion of murder and one male on suspicion of theft.

On Thursday, June 6, the Drugs and Firearms Task Force discovered fifty cannabis plants in the Little Harbour area. No arrest has been made. The Police are carrying out investigations.
