On Sunday 9th June, the Hotel Management Class of the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School, along with their teacher, Ms Kendisha Hall, hosted a Jazz Brunch at the renowned Straw Hat Restaurant. This event was designed to raise funds as the students prepare to travel to Miami, Florida, in July 2013 on an educational field trip.
The overall event was deemed a tremendous success. All who attended expressed their deep satisfaction with the high quality meal, the exemplary service they received from the students, the exquisite menu options, and the ambiance of the event.
The class and teacher were equally pleased with the outcome of the event and therefore use this medium to extend thanks to a number of businesses for the role that they played. Immense thanks is extended to the management of Straw Hat Restaurant for providing a superb chef, inviting venue, materials and equipment to make this event not only possible, but a successful, enjoyable and memorable one. All of the students truly appreciated the opportunity to work along with Straw Hat’s skilled staff and they learned much from the experience.
The Hotel Management Class also extends sincerest thanks to the sponsors: Lake’s World, Merchants’ Market, Ashley and Sons’ Supermarket, Best Buy Supermarket, J.W. Proctors, Geraud’s Bakery, Hall’s Bakery, Mary’s Bakery, Unique Trading and Caracasbaai Supermarket for their generous contributions. For the soothing Jazz music, a huge thank you is extended to Sprocka, Bo Bo and Asher. The students and teachers would also like to thank Ms. Eva Hodge for assisting in every way possible, and their principal Mrs. Ingrid Lake for being extremely supportive. Lastly, but definitely not the least, they express thanks to all who supported this noble cause. Your support and donations were greatly appreciated. We trust that you continue to support these young and upcoming hospitality professionals.
For all those who could not attend but would like to support these students, the donation box is still open. Please contact the ALHCS at 264-497-2417 or Ms. Hall at 264-584-1663.
