Viceroy Anguilla’s only Boutique presented Concierge Night on Monday, May 27, giving specially-invited persons an opportunity to browse through an assortment of exclusive brands.
The tour of the high-end fashion outlet, unofficially called Strata Boutique, was conducted by the Manager, Kerry Harrigan, and her staff over the two-hour showcase period. “It is our first time doing this event,” Ms.Harrigan said. “We invited all the Concierges from the different resorts and it is basically to market the new Boutique here at Viceroy. We are introducing our exclusivity, the brands and styles we carry, letting all the tourism outlets know that we exist.”
Ms.Harrigan continued: “The Boutique carries such brand names as Lanvin, a red carpet brand; James Perse and Matthew Williamson. “These are brands that you find at high-end boutiques in places like New York and California, but the clothing we get from these vendors is exclusive only to Viceroy – especially our Missoni Brand. We even have a pop-up tent that opens during the high season. The entire tent of Missoni cloth was made exclusively for Viceroy Anguilla. Our James Perse T-shirts, also exclusive to Viceroy, have all the Anguilla beaches written on the back. We have everything here.
“Our sundries areas are well-equipped and we build our reputation solely on exclusivity. We have high-end jewellery from Kimberley McDonald, Shiley Rose and Lucile Billet. There is a different sense of fashion here. We have definitely stepped up the trend for the entire island and would basically call Viceroy’s Boutique the trendsetter of the island. Our brands and our sense of fashion here are certainly five-star.”
The Manager added: “Our guests love it. Some of the comments we get include that they would like to come here with empty suitcases rather than with filled suitcases because you can buy anything to wear – whether to dinner or at the beach. Our price points range from thousands of dollars to twenty or thirty dollars. It all depends on what you want, but we have something for everyone.
“Our new buyers are Seaside Luxe based in Los Angeles, California. They are pretty much hands-on. They transitioned this whole Boutique…to the look, the feel and everything we have. It is thanks to them that we have this exclusivity now.”
Lizet Herrandez, who is involved in fashion industry, explained that while the Boutique was called Strata, it was not officially signed off on that name and so for time being it was just called the Boutique. She, however, saw the name as representing a new beginning for the Boutique and a love for the island where visitors can relax and shop at the same time.
Ms. Herrandez, summed up the items at the Boutique as including high-end shoes, apparel, jewellery and sundries. “I think one of the biggest things we have here is our James Perse exclusive T-shirts that have Anguilla and all of its beaches on the back. It is a great memory for someone to take back home,” she said. “TheBoutique also brings a lot of foreign products from Paris, London and Brazil. It is a great foundation where people don’t have to go toSt. Barths to shop. You can find everything you want in Anguilla.”
