“See you in the summer”, Governor-designate for Anguilla, Ms. Christina Scott, privately told a number of persons at a reception, at Government House, in her honour on Thursday, May 2.
The event, hosted by Governor and Mrs. Alistair Harrison, was attended by a number of Government officials and other invited guests. Among the invitees were media personnel ready to cover the welcome remarks or speeches at the function. It was however a quiet reception with only private conversations between Ms Scott and those who were introduced to her by the Governor, or who otherwise came into contact with her on the grounds of Government House.

During her visit she attended a meeting of Executive Council and also met with a number of other officials. She took the opportunity to attend the Sunday service at St. Mary’s Anglican Church where she was welcomed by Reverend Menes Hodge on behalf of the Parish.

Ms. Scott arrived in Anguilla – from London – on a familiarisation visit on Wednesday, May 1. She left the island on Monday, May 6, for the Cayman Islands. She will succeed Governor Harrison in July.

The above photo display records some of the scenes at the reception.

We regret that we were unable to include other persons at the event.
