POLICE REPORT: 17 CRIMES IN ONE WEEK

There were seventeen serious crimes committed in Anguilla during the period May 15-22, according to the Police Report issued on Wednesday this week.

Among the crimes were seven thefts in The Valley, Island Harbour, Blowing Point, East End, Little Harbour and Sandy Ground. The stolen items included Blackberry cellular phones, jewellery, a washing machine, car parts, boat parts and a sum of money.

There were five burglaries in The Cove, The Valley, White Hill, Island Harbour and West End. The stolen items included bed sheets, a washing machine, a dryer, chemicals, a television set, plywood and money.

There were three reports of grievous bodily harm at Her Majesty’s Prison, Statia Valley and The Valley. The police also reported two matters of indecent assault.

Four persons were arrested during the above period as follows: two males for grievous bodily harm; one male to prevent a breach of the peace; and one male on a bench warrant.
Seven traffic accidents were reported.

Meanwhile, the Drugs and Firearms Task Force recovered 37 cannabis plants in the Welches area and 177 cannabis plants in the Roaches Hill area.
