Information has reached The Anguillian on the recent academic achievements of Miss Jerriece Fleming of Old Ta, Anguilla. Ms Fleming left Anguilla in 2009 to pursue studies at the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) in Trinidad. Following a four-year course of study, she graduated with honors (Magna Cum Laude) on Sunday 19th May 2013 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. She was awarded for graduating with the Highest Grade Point Average from the School of Business.
During her tenure at USC, Ms. Fleming served in various leadership capacities: Administrative Assistant of the Associated Student Body from 2012-2013, an ex-officio of the North Carib Club Executive 2012-2013, the Secretary/Treasurer of the North Carib Club 2011-2012, the Chaplain of the Ladies Club 2010-2011 and the Assistant Chaplain of the North Carib Club 2010-2011. She views leadership as the capacity to translate vision into reality. Ms. Fleming was an exemplary student at this state of the art institution and made a mark for others to follow. She has been on the Dean’s and Vice President Lists for the past four years. She has been described by her tutors and university mates as a disciplined and hard working young woman with exemplary character and godly principles.
Most importantly, Jerriece wishes to thank God Almighty for his protection and guidance; her proud parents (Michael and Jewelle Fleming) for their prayers, love and support; a special mother (Mrs. Janet Lake), and to her brothers, extended family members and friends who have encouraged, uplifted and prayed for her success. Thanks and appreciation to her special friend Mr. Leriano Webster for all his love and continued support. She admonishes young people to stay focused, embrace opportunities and to always put God first in life because it is only through him that real success is guaranteed.Her dream is to become an entrepreneur who would make an extraordinary contribution to the Business World. She asserts that challenges are what make life interesting – and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful. She hopes to do her masters in the near future.
