The Anguilla Community College hosted its second ‘Leadership At Every Level Workshop’, 10 – 12 April 2013 facilitated by Mrs. Melinda Goddard. The workshop was attended by 23 persons representing a cross section of public and private sector. The Leadership workshop gives participants at any level of the organization ladder to develop their leadership skills by teaching them key strategies to implement on the job to lead their organization to greater success.

The course was designed by Mrs. Goddard recognizing that the pace for business is accelerating more each day and one leader directing layers of management can no longer respond fast enough to compete. Every manager and supervisor at every level needs to not only manage, but also lead while developing a team of leaders. With customers who can tweet and blog before their napkins hit the table at the end of every meal, while they are in a hotel lobby, taxi or any other establishment, developing leadership at every level is perhaps more crucial than ever. This course will enable participants to assess their leadership capabilities, exercise specific skills, and develop a leadership plan to help them and their teams reach their full potential. The class is based on the leadership competencies studied by Russ-eft, Berrey and Hurson and published by Hurson and Russ-eft in Everyone a Leader (John Wiley & Sons, New York, 1999).

Professor Delroy Louden, President of the Anguilla Community College during the closing ceremony encouraged participants to continue their educational development by identifying other courses at the college that they can build on. He also urged participants to recognize that Continuing Education is a lifelong process and much good will come from always staying current in their respective fields. Finally, he praised Mrs Goddard for her unflinching support in the development and establishment of the Leadership series at the Anguilla Community College which has now become a staple offering.
This workshop continues to be popular and the College plans to offer it again later in the year.
