Sunday evening, April 7, will see a repeat performance of the March 31 Easter programme which was well-presented by the St. Augustine’s Chorale under the direction of Lennox Vanterpool and well-received by a large and appreciative audience. It was a stunning presentation!
The programme has its theme: “The Christ, The King, The Risen Saviour”. It was created by Dave Clark, Mark Harris and Tim Green and arranged by Bradley Knight, three popular composers.
In reading the introduction to the programme last Sunday, Zulma Webster, one of the choristers, said: “This work tells the timeless Easter story through the eyes of everyday, ordinary people, who encountered an extraordinary Christ. From the woman at the well who found forgiveness, to the disciples who were warned to guard their hearts, the stirring narration of this work reminds us that the lessons taught centuries ago are still relevant today.

“This Easter musical features many dramatic new songs as well as old church standards. Through these compelling songs, the St. Augustine’s Chorale invites you to come and identify with the uncertainties that people faced back then, just the same as we face presently on our daily journey. As it was then, man still stands in need of the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ.”
The selections which will be heard again (on Saturday 7th April) are: Three Days, My Father’s House, You Are King, Watch and Pray, When No One Understands, Cover Me along with My Faith Looks Up To Thee; Water of Life and All the Earth Will Sing Your Praises along with Three Days.
