Former Anguillian educator, Mr. Vivien Vanterpool, after whom the Primary School at Island Harbour has been named, was honoured by that school and the Department of Education on his 81st Birthday on Wednesday, March 27.

The programme included opening remarks by Mr. Winston Duncan, the school’s Link Officer and Education Officer (Science); the National Song & School Song by the school’s choir; remarks by Ms. Veda Harrigan, Education Officer Primary, Pre-Primary; a special selection by Ms Lauretta Reid, a past student and mother of two students at the school; a dance by students Carlijah, Ivory and Shenice; and the Birthday Song by all in attendance.

There were also presentations by Olivia Faytt, a student at the school, and former teacher, Ms. Carmen Richardson; a response by Mr. Vanterpool expressing his thanks and appreciation for being honoured on his Birthday; the cutting of the birthday cake, followed by the Vote of Thanks by the Prncipal of the Vivien Vanterpool Primary School, Mrs.Tracelyn Hamilton, and the unveiling of a photograph of Mr.Vanterpool to be placed at the school.
