The weekend of April 13-14 will be a time of fitness exercises, healthy lifestyle eating, displays of healthy food products (such as proteins and vitamins) and the holding of sporting and entertainment activities.

It will all be part of the first annual celebration of Transpharm Ltd – a local company promoting healthy living choices – whose Managing Director is Csaes Wattley. Working in association with him is Mirabella West of Mpire Communications—which is handling the public relations aspects of the company.

LIME Anguilla’s Marketing Director, Jade Reymond, told reporters on Tuesday that the telecommunications company had undertaken to promote and sponsor the event in two ways. One through newspaper, billboard and radio advertisements and the other by a contribution of EC$4,500.

Ms West said Wattley had developed Transpharm Ltd over the past two years. “He credits his success to a combination of his workout regimen and use of MusclePharm products. “MusclePharm is a premiere sports nutrition and supplement brand based in the United States, and committed to ‘fuelling athletes’ safety’.

The event will commence at 6.00 am on Saturday at the Rodney MacArthur Rey Auditorium with a Health and Fitness Expo and Beats Cross Fit Challenge. The opening activity will be a special edition of Dungeon Gym’s now famous ‘Saturday Sizzler.’

According to Ms West, there will also be spin classes and other sessions for public participation. Various organisations will be offering free health checks for blood pressure, blood sugar and HIV. Empire Ink Tattoos of Miami will be showcasing its artistic talent, and local organic vendors will be on hand offering the best and freshest produce. There will be a special performance by Infamus of St. Kitts during the day. The MC for the event is DJ Jeanie.

On day two, Sunday, will be the ‘Hoop-It-Up’ 3×3 Basketball Challenge at the Ashley & Sons Basketball Court at 3.00 pm. Various teams will be vying for the title of TransPharmers. The winner will travel to Tampa, Florida, later for the Basketball Tournament.

LIME Anguilla’s General Manager, Mark Romney, joined Ms.Reymond in expressing the company’s delight to be associated with the event.
